- Playing on Multiple Devices
If other players have their own devices with a current version of Dash Race, you can play together with a wireless connection. For this you connect locally via Bluetooth or WiFi, or worldwide through the Gamecenter. Dedicated information on using Gamecenter can be found in the next chapter.
For local connections, WiFi will be the first choice if players share the same WiFi router. Otherwise you need to go to the device settings and explictly switch on Bluetooth for each device (for technical reasons, Dash Race can't do that for you ― explaining this would be too much for these instructions, however it relates to the fact that we support WiFi as well).
To start a multi-device game, you first need to determine a game host. This player will then choose the track and assign other players to the desired colors. For remote players, he chooses the note icon with the radio symbol. Instantly, a list with available devices running Dash Race will be shown.
If not all devices you expect are shown, give the selector some more time. Establishing all connections can take some time, especially if more than one additional device is connecting.
The game host can also choose to add robots or other human players (that will share his device then). When all remote players are choosen, the game host starts the game like normal. All further steps are self-explanatory. Every player makes his moves on his own device, but can watch all other activities on other devices as well.
Solution to Connection IssuesThe connection between devices might get unstable over a longer period of time. Occasional drops of connectivity are not too rare. Dash Race will try to re-establish a broken connection immediately and exchange current game data, so that the game can continue.
If this is impossible for some reason and the game gets stuck, it can help if one of the affected players exits the the game completely by pressing the Home-button. After restarting Dash Race, the connections will be completely cleaned up and usually will work well again.
Completely restarting Dash Race will also help, if a device does not show up for selection, even after waiting some minutes.
